Last week I spend my time in Holland and England.
Holland painfully reminded me that in Europe credit cards without chip and PIN are almost of no value at automated machines. In the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport I had to take a train to Breda. Machines that sell the tickets do not take AMEX cards and the only ones they accept are VISA or MasterCard with Chip. Option is go to a sales office and pay CASH. Not fun at all.
Also do not plan too close to schedule in trains... they get cancelled some times. last week was one of those.
After those few issues.... Breda is a nice town. Good places to eat and nice downtown. Do not fell into traditional food here as that is not something too good. Just see the menu and select what you want.
Walking around town at night is nice as the location seems to be safe and the people seems friendly. Classic northern city with parks, walking areas surrounded by restaurants and classic houses and buildings.
Another tip. In the train pay the extras before boarding (high speed or non stop) as on board are way more expensive.
From Breda I went back to my classic departure city from Europe, London.
Arrived for Diwali night, the festival of lights. London was full of fireworks and full of people celebrating. Great night. Diwali is a celebration of light against darkness, good against bad. Most religions have this kind of celebration in one way or another. Celebrate good. Highlight Good.
We need a world with Good as key in life.
My flight back home was in a 747 400 and like all the time I flight in one I remember why is one of the airplanes I like most. One is the big and comfortable overhead space. luxury in today's air transportation. Two is the low speed of landing. Love the feeling of landing in a 747!!
Great airplane.
The best thing of all..... another trip is finished and I'm here to let the world know.
